New CTT EXP & Rentals + Chemistry Platform Award valued in $3,073,372.20 MXN
Los Cabos lnternational Film Festival trough the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund has established a bonding and visibility platform for Mexican talent to the rest of the world. Thanks to the alliances aimed to contribute to film creation and production, since 2013, the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund has supported 76 projects in development and postproduction stage, granting a total of $27,905,840.00 MXN (cash and kind) to film and television productions from Mexico, United States, Canada and Latin America.
During its 7th edition the Festival will grant the CTT EXP & Rentals + Chemistry Platform Award, with the support of two of companies at the forefront of the Mexican film industry, CTT EXP & Rentals, film and video equipment rental company, and the postproduction studio, Chemistry.
The CTT EXP & Rentals + Chemistry Platform Award is the result of the Festival’s commitment to boost Mexican film talent since its early stages. This alliance between CTT EXP & Rentals and Chemistry works as a key platform for the development of the award winning project, allowing more certainty and bigger short term opportunities for the production.
All the Mexican produced or co-produced projects selected for the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund – Cinema in Development call will compete for the award, that includes:
- CTT EXP & Rentals: $1,283,911.20 MXN worth in film equipment rental for four weeks of shooting. The equipment includes camera, optics, mobile and generator.
- Chemistry: $1,789,416.00 MXN worth of post-production services, such as film conform, color correction, digital deliveries, graphic insertions, Quality Check, DCP, Blue Ray, DVD and Master backup.

Meanwhile, Chemistry’s CEO, Andrés Martínez-Ríos, added: “One of our goals is to support and promote the growth of the Mexican cinematographic industry through new techniques and post production tools that allow filmmakers to reach their highest expectations. We are thrilled to present this grand award that offers a postproduction package valued in $1,200,000.00 MXN for the winning project. As well as being the country’s most important film and cultural encounter between Mexico, United States and Canada, Los Cabos International Film Festival continues to be the festival that grants the biggest number of awards in Latin America, with a total of 6,900,000.00 MXN (cash and kind), a figure possible thanks to the support and trust of our allies.
